WordPress 6.0 “Arturo” has been released. This is the second major release of 2022 which brings many improvements; including hundreds of updates and hundreds of bug fixes. WordPress has never been better!
As of the release of WordPress 5.9 WordPress has moved towards what they call Full Site Editing which makes full use of the block site editor. (You can still use the classic editor within WordPress 6.0 by adding the Classic editor plugin). Now with WordPress 6.0 the block site editor has been refined even further.
The blocks editor now has a code editor if HTML ever needed here and there. The Block Patterns have been improved. The List View has been improved. You can do text selection across blocks. Blocks can be locked.
Another great adjustment is the Block Style Retaining. This keeps the block’s customized styles (such as the typography and color) to save time if you switch a restyled block from being a paragraph to say a headline etc
Here is a quick list of more abilities added:
– Quick Shortcut to Add Internal Links
– Select Multiple Blocks in List View
– Border for Columns Block
– Spacing for Gallery Images
– Choose the Opacity of the Separator Block
