People all over the world have been celebrating the WordPress 20th Anniversary on May 27, 2023.

WordPress has a lot to be proud of. It started back in 2003 and evolved in to having the clear mission to ‘democratize publishing‘, with the freedom to build, the freedom to change, and the freedom to share.
Over 50,000,000 downloads.

Below is a snapshot of history 10 years ago, the half way point between now and when it all began. It was at that point in 2013 that 19% of sites online were using WordPress. Now in 2023, 10 years later it’s more than doubled where WordPress is the leading platform of choice for over 43% of all sites across the web.
