GDPR stands for General Data Protection Regulation. It’s European legislation relating to personal data and how it’s stored. Even though it is a European legislation, but it will affect website owners and developers outside Europe if those website’s collect any data from European visitors.

The recent release of version 4.9.6 WordPress has a few GDPR enhancement tools that will assist in your website’s compliance, one of the tools is a Privacy Policy page creator. It’s handy but one still needs to determine what exactly they would like there privacy notice to say.
